What is Awana?

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Learning the word of God is a very important thing for children; and Awana clubs helps in that regard. Everything, whether it be stories, activities, games, learning verses, or just talking with commanders is centered around the word of God and his Son, Jesus Christ.

We at Grace Baptist are a family church, and a kids church. We strive to teach children at a young age about Christ so they can grow to be more like him.

Awana is held every Wednesday at 6:30 PM (During the school year Sept. thru April). Any child between the age of 3 yrs to 6th grade is welcome to come. Anyone who is 7th grade through 12th grade is also welcome to come. They can act as Student Leaders, which is a great way to help spread Gods word, and work with kids. For transportation, Call (814) 684 – 5016   ALL OUR LEADERS HAVE BACKGROUND SCREENING!

Awana Clubs:

Puggles: Toddlers (2-3 year olds) are introduced biblical precepts at church and equipping parents to teach them at home.  Includes play time, songs, lessons, simple crafts, and activities.

Cubbies: Preschoolers (3- to 5-year olds) are helped to develop a respect for God, His Son and His Word. Activities include puppets, story time, crafts, and games.

Sparks: Grade School (k – 2nd). Activities include story time, learning verses, and games.

TnT: (Truth and Training) Grace School (3rd – 6th). Activities are all the same as Sparks, but with a little more of a challenge.

Both the Sparks and TnT also participate in Awana Olympics – That is where we meet once a year with other churches in our area and have a fun day of competition and activities (Also centered around God and his son Jesus Christ). We also have TNT kids who participate the same day in Bible Quizzing!  Bible Quizzing is a chance for the child to be quizzed out of their current book as they compete against others in the same book from different clubs!  Those who have done it really enjoy the experience and opportunity to show others what they have learned.
