Grace recently re-launched small groups and there is still room for more. We want to make this option available to all and help in forming, leading, and participating in these groups. If you are curious about the benefit of these small groups, just ask those who are already participating in this connection-making opportunity.
Small groups usually have six to eight people, though some will grow to a larger number. The point of these small groups is to provide fellowship on a regular basis, discussing biblical subjects in a casual, welcoming environment, and providing care, discipleship, and prayer to all the members. The night the groups meet is optional.
We are still in need of group leaders. A group leader gets the conversation going and keeps it heading in a specific direction while defusing any tension within the group. The leader does not need to design a half-hour lecture. Rather, the leader will need six to eight open-ended questions to facilitate a conversation that everyone can participate in. The conversation can center around a book, video, or topic.
We are also in need of host homes, places that these groups can meet. The host’s do not need to do anything but open their doors. If they happen to be in another small group, they don’t even need to be present during the small group they are hosting!
If you are considering getting involved with small group leadership, please sign up on the sign-up sheet below. We also recommend looking into the books The Adult Bible Fellowship Book by Knute Larson and Making Small Groups Work by Dr. Henry Cloud.
Thank you so much!
