Grace Baptist is still growing in our small groups with several that meet, and they can tell you just how important this has been in their life. We want to make this option available to all and help in forming, leading, and participating in these groups.

Ideally, a small group would be anywhere from six to eight people, though some will naturally grow to a dozen, give or take. The point of these small groups is to provide fellowship on a regular basis, discussing biblical subjects in a casual, welcoming environment, and providing care, discipleship, and prayer to all the members.

We are still in need of new group leaders. A group leader gets the conversation going and keeps it heading in a specific direction while defusing any tension within the group. The leader does not need to design a half-hour lecture. Rather, the leader will need six to eight open-ended questions to facilitate a conversation that everyone can participate in. The conversation can center around a book, video, or topic.

We are also still in need of new host homes, places that these groups can meet. Our current groups are overpopulated and in need of other places to meet. The host’s do not need to do anything but open their doors. If they happen to be in another small group, they don’t even need to be present during the small group they are hosting!

There are a great number of resources and studies available through Rightnow Media on our church channel. Our goal is for twelve groups of 6-8 members meeting at least once a week. The night the groups meet  is optional.
